The Roman Republic started in 509 B.C. after they obtained their power back from the Etruscans. In the early start of the Roman Republic, power was not distributed properly that led to the fall of Rome. Patricians were the ones in power and the plebeians had no saying. The power distribution in society changed over the years until the plebeians had a little more control, but still the class with money overpowered them so plebeians could never be a consul. Part of the system in Rome wasn’t setup correctly this led many problems in Rome such as lack of capital, the corruption in the people who were in power, also all the crime that were happening. When the Republic collapses there was a very large gap between the rich and the poor. Poor farmers came to the city of Rome and make up a great part of the population. This is basically what started the Civil War. They had a couple of strong leaders supporting their efforts. Because they were representing the poor, they made enemies with some of those aristocratic senators so those leaders were killed. After That the Civil War really takes off. This then creates a power vacuum which, Julius Caesar takes advantage of him, because he's a very popular general among the commoners also has a strong military commanders so he takes control with a couple of his friends.
