Kate the Great by Meg Cabot proves that growing up is difficult. Kate is trying to sabotage Jenny’s babysitting job! Ever since Jenny and Kate were young they have been the best of friends they even gave each other nicknames Jenny was, “ Jenny the Intrepid” and Kate was,”Kate the Great” but everything changed as Kate got older. Kate started going to highschool when jenny was still in middle school so kate had a different view of life. Kate started wearing different clothes that were shorter and she didn’t even care about swimming! Ever since I’ve started eighth grade things have been a roller coaster I’ve lost friends got them back and lost more friends but there are only two events that stick out like a sore thumb. In the beginning of the eighth grade year I had at least seven or eight close friend then in the start of the year one of my friends got sick of the other and I had to choose sides I had to lie to one friend and tell her that I didn’t like the girl she got sick of then finally I was split and I had to choose between friends and I chose the one who actually was positive to me. Then close to the end of the year the one friend who I chose over the other started to get on my nerves and I decided to treat her how she treated me and ever since I’ve been wondering if the friend choices I’ve made were right. Another event that proved that growing up is difficult was a few weeks ago.
