A Chauvin woman who was stabbed to death at a Grand Isle beach Sunday was a generous woman who loved photography and gardening, and did everything she could for her three kids despite being an amputee, her sister-in-law said. Jennifer Dozier was at the beach near Cypress Lane around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when a fight broke out between her and her boyfriend of nearly two years, Randy Paul Marcel, of Pine Street in Chauvin, police said. The fight, which witnesses say started over drugs or cigarettes, culminated in Dozier, 34, being stabbed the multiple times in the neck and torso, said Glen Boyd, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office public information officer. Marcel left Dozier's 2-year-old son, Gabriel, with his mother's body and left the scene, police said.

In the 2007 National Finals of the Public Forum Debate, a competitive debate tournament in which teams are assigned sides of an issue to debate in front of a panel of judges in order to persuade them that the affirmative or negative side is correct. The topic of this debate was whether or not handguns should be banned for private use in the United States. This issue is easily debatable because of the amount of information and statistics on each side of the argument. I analyzed the affirmative team in the debate, where Thao Le and Alyssa Tharp argue their position. Le and Tharp stand resolved that private gun ownership of handguns should be banned in the United States.

In my opinion Thurgood Marshall was influential by the fact that he was a special counsel to the NAACP, which is the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. For many people college is a time where they find themselves and become independent. That wasn’t really the case for my aunt, Lisa Dennis. She explained to me how her college experience was different than others because of the fact she didn’t go right out of highschool, but that doesn’t mean it was bad. She had to find her independence in other ways than going to college. Here’s a woman who couldn’t afford to go to college right out of high school, but was determined to work hard at her job and take classes part time.
