The film The Hunger Games was written about futuristic events, the movie shows a powerful force that makes the female protagonist set her feminine side apart in order to succeed. In this quest, Katniss Everdeen, discovers that a powerful force is manipulating the setting, and their emotions causing weakness. Their home environment is made by powerful forces who select two individuals to represent each district to play the games. Katniss is shown to always rely on herself and not show fear to those that are above her in hierarchy. Her emotions have not been tested yet because of the way the community of her district has in forced that they need to take care of those who are cherished in their hearts. This type of enforcement will stay with Katniss for most of her journey throughout the games, but the powerful forces will control what she should do to remain alive. She was shocked when she heard Peeta announce that he had a crush on her making her very uncomfortable wanting to fight him yelling at him “You do not even speak to me yet you have a crush on me.” Never being able to have the advantage of showing off her feminine side she was confused. Katniss realizes that it is not about just staying alive, but to make sure everyone knows that she is there to stay and not even the higher power can control her. Showing her feminine side is not the “norm” for her because she was mentally and physically built to do things on her own with no help. The protagonist did not let the powerful force get away with all the manipulation.
