One of the major effects for the privatization to give benefits to the public.[ The information has been found on http://unpan1.un.org] The facilities provided by the KTMB after privatization better compare before privatization. This is because, before the process of privatization, KTMB only had limited resources for their activities and development. Therefore, KTMB could not give efficient services to the public. After privatization, many improvements do by KTMB for the benefits of public. For example, KTMB has introduced Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) Commuter Services, Light Rail Transit System I (LRT-STAR) and Light Rail Transit System II (LRT-PUTRA) for an alternative transportation system in the Klang Valley. All of these transportation systems can reduce the cost and time of the public. Furthermore, public can avoid from the traffic jam if they use the public transportation. From the statistic in the Eight Malaysia Plan for Privatization, the number of public use the KTMB services increase year by year. Organizational restructuring is needed because KTMB can improve their regional marketing and focus on their management development. Therefore, KTMB separate their services into two lines which are West Coast line and East Coast line. The West Coast line cover from Woodlands Train Checkpoint in Singapore to Padang Besar, Perlis nearest to the border Malaysia-Thailand, meanwhile the East Coast line cover from Gemas, Negeri Sembilan station to Tumpat, Kelantan station. This method can help KTMB in developing the country. This is because KTMB is another alternatives to connect rural areas such as Dabong,Kelantan. Most of the rural areas take a long time to arrive destination if they used car as amain transportation. In Kelantan, most of teachers or government servants work in rural areas use KTMB as their transportation to work because KTMB can reduce their time and energy. Furthermore, KTMB introduced ETS at West Coast line. Therefore, people stay in Ipoh can work in Kuala Lumpur or other destination along the journey of Ipoh railway station to Kuala Lumpur Sentral because it only takes a few hours to arrive Kuala Lumpur.
