It is important for every business to have an organized business plan that portrays the structure of the organization, as well as the future goals for the company. Bombardier is a strikingly successful company due to the fact that they have a well-organized plan that helps them reach their goals for success. Just recently, Bombardier has narrowed down their two business groups into four different business segments. Each segment has their own department head, as well as their own president who then reports to the chief executive officer, Alain Bellemare. Bombardier’s business structure helps with the more desirable outcomes and a much better dexterity within its operations. Aerospace is split up into subgroups; business aircraft, commercial aircraft, and aerostructures and engineering services. The aerostructures and engineering services is the “. . . segment (that) specializes in the design and manufacture of major aircraft structural components and provides aftermarket component repair and overhaul, as well as other engineering services for both internal and external clients.” (Bombardier, 2014). The other two segments are the different types of aero craft that is produced within the company. Building on the knowledge of these different segments gather improved sources of revenue for this company. Although Bombardier believed that introducing this new structure/ business plan would benefit, it cost them to lose around 2000 employees in the workforce. In an earlier time this year, Bombardier decided to cut one of the aerojet programs and therefore they were forced to lose an additional 1000 employees in the United States and Mexico and had to transfer workers to other international aircraft
