As a general manager of Access, Kerrie Peterson was given the task to reduce her operating budget (Gurley & Tavakoli, n.d.). She pushed a goal to reduce her operating budget by 15 percent. She held a meeting with the senior management team to develop a working plan to successfully reach her goal (Gurley & Tavakoli, n.d.). There were several ideas that generated from the meeting along with resistance from each person. These ideas included a suspension of hiring, decreased travel pay and unnecessary purchases, and increased use of the internet and intranet, and the reorganization of account management (Gurley & Tavakoli, n.d.). Some of the critical issues are the employee’s morale and future with the company.
