I viewed Frontline a documentary series, which episode was entitled Poor Kids. The frontline personnel spent time with three children Kailey, Johnny, and Britany along with their families as they all struggle financially. We perceive a glimpse of what it is like to live below the poverty line in America through a child’s eyes. While observing the documentary, I became consciously aware that children who are considered poor or living below the poverty line were more mindful of the responsibilities of life. The children were worrisome of the lack of employment for their parents, bills, and in Britney’s case; how they would accommodate their way of living to support a new addition to the family.
Teen car wrecks are tragic and happen way too often, vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teens in America. In 2013 alone more than 2,163 teens, ages 16-19 were killed and 243,243 were treated in hospitals for injuries due to vehicle crashes. That means six teens died every day as a result of motor vehicle crashes. The huge majority (75 percent) of serious teen driver crashes are due to what officials call “critical errors” One of the biggest culprits is the lack of scanning mirrors and other important spots that are a necessity in order to detect and respond to hazards.
Education has always been an important aspect for their parents and the kids turned out very intelligent. As the kids grew up, they realized they disliked the way their parents raised them. They started to argue with their parents and would tell them how they felt. Unfortunately the parents did not listen and instead ignore them. From there It only got worse, the fights got more physically abusive.
The children, not that they asked for it, are dealt the bad hand by fate. It is up to them to decide what to do about it or even to do anything at
Persavsive Paragragh I think Grandview R2 Middle School should have recess. Recess would provide more phyisical activities and exersize for kids, also i think recess provides free time for kids to get away from work for a little bit. The normal time to have recess would be after lunch to let energy befor comming back to class. Also i think recess is a time for kids to let out stress from work that has been put on them. Recess help kids stay active and healthy also it would help kids not sleep in class while doing his or her work.
Kids on Meds The use of anti-depressants in children and teenagers is controversial at best. On the one hand there are studies conducted by neuroscientist which seem to prove that the use of these medication at a young age could possibly alter the brain's wiring permanently, thus altering its normal development. On the other hand, some psychiatrists claim that the benefits of using the medications far outweigh the risks of not treating the depressive episodes in children, due to the fact that each subsequent episode is usually worse than the previous. Who is right and who is wrong in this debate?
It is with great enthusiasm that I write to apply for the Pro Bono Coordinating Attorney position at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND). After recently completing a public interest law fellowship, I’m striving to continue my dedication to public service, specifically my commitment to helping some of the most vulnerable people in our society, undocumented immigrants. Teresa Gutierrez recently spoke to me about your expanded efforts to help unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children. Working for KIND is appealing to me because I would be a part of a team that brings together different advocates to overcome the vast problem of minors needing immigration representation. Given the opportunity to work alongside and learn from the great deal of expertise of Katie Fleet and Audra Behne, combined with my professional experience and academic background, I am confident I could be an asset to your organization.
Parents might think that their kids are in a good safe place when in reality they are somewhere that is dangerous for young kids. Connie went out with her best friend to go shopping or to the movies but ended up going to different places. Connie went to the famous restaurant who is known as a place for older kids to hang out (Oates, 177). She end up leaving the restaurant to go for a ride with a young boy that she did not know name Eddie. Wanting to feel freedom might seem nice, but it is not always a good thing to have.
In the article “Life sentence: is life without parole for juveniles cruel and unusual punishment?” by Brown Dontae and Adele Birkenes talks about juveniles getting charged as adults. This article shows how 14 year old Jackson committed murder by shooting the store clerk. Jackson and other robbers where trying to rob some video games. It didn’t turn out so pretty so they shot the man.
they don’t grow up with that normal child hood leading
What if your loved one was savagely killed by a teenager with no remorse? Juveniles should be convicted as adults for ferocious crimes because even though they are “kids” they kill innocent people and should get punished for the crime they committed. Teenagers commit gruesome crimes like murder and knowing what they are makes the situation far worse. In the article “Kids are Kids-Until They Commit Crimes” the author Jennifer Jenkins talks about the teenagers that committed gory murders against innocent people that didn’t deserve to die like a road animal. For example, a 13 year old shot to death an english teacher.
Juveniles are the future of this country and we must treat them as such. The United States began its war on drugs in the 1970s in order to combat the increasing use of illegal drugs coming in from Latin American countries. The war on drugs resulted in the formation of the Drug enforcement agency (DEA), mandatory minimums for drug charges just to name a few. The war on drugs created a system where the United States has the highest prisoner population per capita in the world with fifty percent of those being incarcerated for drug offenses. This has not only had an impact on adults but also juveniles.

With many states legalizing recreational marijuana, it can seem like kids smoking weed is a non-issue. In reality, marijuana serves as a gateway drug to more addictive, more harmful substances. In addition, kids smoking weed can lead to problems with the way that their brain develops. The human mind does not stop forming until the mid-20s, so early marijuana use can inhibit the mind 's ability to function. Why Kids Smoking Weed Is a Problem
You have been a victim of a crime. Any adult who has ever been a victim of a crime has felt the fear, the guilt, the anger, all the emotional, psychological and possibly the physical effects of being the victim. Would these emotional, psychological or physical reactions be the same or would they be more powerful for a child victim. Children are innocent, and have no understanding of what has happened or even why and may find it more difficult to express the emotions that they are feeling. No child is immune to shock, no matter how old they are but are able to recover from an experience faster than their adult counterpart with some help and support.
