The fourth finding I found was that even though Pre-K environments have an emphasis on group activities there was often a designated area in the classroom where children could go and be alone and self-reflect. However, these spaces were used differently throughout the three programs. In one program children went to what they called the “cool down chair” when they misbehaved. In this particular program usually a talkative child who may have been disruptive would have to go to the chair and think about what he or she did wrong. The chair was located in a corner where there were crayons and other play items that the child was allowed to use, but mainly it was a sort of punishment.
Recess is an enormass change that happens between elementary and middle school. Recess has a purpose, that middle school should not be able to take away. Getting better grades, calming aspects, and exercise are all reasons why middle schools should get recess. First, getting good grades is essential to getting the future that many people strive for.
For this extended assignment I am going to focus on play and the importance of play is for children and young people. I am going to focus on children up to age of 6. “Play is a spontaneous and active process in which thinking, feeling and doing can flourish.” (http://www.playwales.org.uk/ ). Play is Important for children and young people’s as it can help children to build their confidence.
Why don’t middle schoolers have a “recess” or free period? Honestly I don’t know. But in my opinion, all grades should have some type of free period like recess. This could help make friends, let the teachers have a break, and give us extra time for missing work or homework. All in all, it is a good thing for us, and even high school.
School days are long and most of the time middle schoolers can 't wait to the end of school. That 's why recess should be there, it allows to enjoy sun or enjoy snow or whatever season. It also allows the kid to have su which is healthy for you also it gives you fresh air. Because otherwise a teenager could make a problem from having the lack of movement. One example is middle schooler boy who caused a disturbance got treated badly because sometimes he caused a disturbance and that hurt his self esteem.

Should middle school students have recess? Middle school students should not have recess at all. This is because they need to grow and mature, they could get distracted from their missing work, and there is more of a chance to get hurt. You may think differently, but there is no denying the facts that prove my opinion. Middle school is a time in a kids life where they have more responsibilities, yet still are allowed to be a child.
It’s finally a time where you DON’T have to learn. This paper is obviously about recess due to my rambling on and on about it. Therefore, we should have recess because, Kids need good health, exercise, and a break from teachers. Starting off with Heath reasons, the most boring. Children need recess because of fresh air, Vitamin D, and so we don’t get cramps in class.
Have you ever wanted to gave recess in school again like when you were a little kid? Many people believe that recess should not be in school, but I think that there should be recess because you can be outside and be active and you get to see your friends. Being outside and being active is good for you because you get energy and you get to run around with your friends. For example being active is good because you can get some exercise and it is way better than sitting in a classroom and not being active. Another reason going outside for recess is great because you get to see your friends and get to talk to them ,so you don't have to talk to them in class.
It is important that children are able to receive holistic care while in a play environment, both inside and outside. Some of the principles which would apply to both indoor and outdoor play include a child centred practice, ensuring the child 's welfare and safety, promoting a child 's rights, and enabling a child to reach their full potential. It is important that we provide a child centred practice, as it promotes a child 's learning and development through play. By having a child centred approach, we should support the children giving them guidance, but to allow the opportunities for them to learn independently, instead of taking over an activity and showing them. It encourages us as practitioners, to encourage children to explore and to make their own
Children are able to develop and practise motor skills and bodily movements through physical plays. During some cognitive games, such as board games and educational toys, children can improve their mental fitness and brain function. Play also provides opportunities for children to make friends, to negotiate with others, and to develop their communication skills. It helps extend language and improve children’s social ability. I believed that play is essential to children’s education that cannot be minimized and separated from learning.
He dribbles down the court, he shoots, he scores! Basketball, a game of dribbling, shooting, scoring, and winning. A simple orange ball turned into a game for people to play and enjoy for all time. These are all extremely important developmental building blocks that help them to grow into future members of society. According to the American Association for the Child's Right to Play, many school systems have dropped recess since 1989. “Personal conversations with principals and teachers suggest that they feel pressured to pack more instruction into the school day because of new calls for accountability” (Jarett Olga). Some of the main
Many argue whether middle school students should have recess, or not have recess. “unstructured play and social interaction are a crucial part of children’s cognitive, academic, physical and mental wellness" (Gonchar). Recess, helps getting teens creativity flowing, helps their brains, and just a break to just relax before having to go back and listen to teachers for almost 3 more hours. Also, recess is a great way for teens to get outside, sense most of the time kids are inside playing video games. One might be wondering what exactly recess is.
Why kids should have a longer recess Imagine being a teacher and having a student coming up to ask you a question. And then all of a sudden, the child starts stumbling over his or her own feet, because the student did not get the proper amount of vitamin-D. As a result of not getting the proper amount {20-30} minutes of recess. This is why kids across the globe should have a longer recess. one reason students should have a longer recess is,The social factor first people need lots of human interaction.
