Is Young Actually Too Young? In "Kids with cell phones: How young is too young?" Lindsey Boerma asks "At what age should children be allowed to have their own cell phones?" Lindsey's logic on when should children actually own a cellphone does stand; her statistics showed how children own phones so early in their childhood and it's quite sad. This debate clearly showed Pathos, and Ethos as well with some emotional appeals, and many examples that were given throughout the article. With this and other several arguments, she uses her words wisely to really express the big issue with children using cellphones at such a young age. The author does convince readers that children who have phones at such an early age is wrong, but since her audience are probably parents looking for advice on what to do in future scenarios she lacks on what parents actually feel. Her audience might still have many questions after reading Lindsey's article like; How do parents deal and feel about buying their kid a phone and is young really too young?, like her article states. She does continue and talks with experts on what age is the preferred age to own a phone, which then could help parents make a decision. Logos was well distributed throughout this article with multiple examples and statistics of what Consumer experts think upon this issue.
