With my research paper, I decided to focus on the villain archetype out of all of them. The villain archetype can be defined as the evil character who exists to cause disorder, confusion, and mayhem on society and to battle against the hero. The one character that I feel and demonstrates the villain archetype would be Spitz from, “The Call of The Wild”. Reasons as to why I believe this is that in the story, Buck and Curly finally arrive to the Klondike Region of Canada and quickly learn that they need to survive with primal instincts against Spitz and his pack. However, Spitz, with no ounce of mercy within him, causes trouble within the pack and lures Curly into a false sense of companionship, only to be killed moments later by him.
In the excerpt “Electric Funeral” Klosterman depicted his meaning of villainy through the use of famous people and their already established status. This “villain” is one that would harm others in the process of benefiting themselves while gaining fame and money. Roughly, Klosterman would describe villainy as a gateway to mass media manipulation because the introduction of minimal disobedience can open the door to a greater platform of cyber bullying which allows the capability of using one's core weaknesses against them to turn the outcome in the predecessor's favor. There is a multitude of reasons for a Villain, a bully in modern terms, acts the way he or she does. Villainy is by far an outcome of one's environment and can be used for self-consolation, but can also be used to gain
Asoka: Ruthless, or Enlightened? Asoka was a powerful, yet arrogant leader of the Mauryan Empire over 2,000 years ago. His empire reigned over most of modern India. After years of war over land, Asoka ended violence and turned to the Buddhist religion to influence his new edicts (commands obeyed like laws).
After September 11, 2001, Osama Bin Laden’s name was spread worldwide like a deadly disease. Bin Laden, leader of the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda, organized and hijacked four planes destined for the US. Over 3,000 lives were taken, during a terrorist attack when 19 of the group’s militants bombed the Pentagon and World Trade Center in New York City. Approximately 400 of this number police officers or firefighters, and an additional 10,000 injuries occurred, many severe. On May 1, 2011, when Bin Laden was shot and killed, the question arose: which devastated the United States more, the 9/11 attack or the decade long, costly search for their terrorist?
Explaining to his victims why they are being killed before the moment of death, he prepares the area for murder. He is a tedious man, preferring to make his kills in sterile, almost surgical environments. He tends to have an emotionless manner and objective way of viewing his actions. But while making average human interactions, he has a dry sense of humor. Behind closed doors we see the compulsive side of him; the side that wants to kill.
Villains are a huge part of movies, stories and books. Without a villain in a plot, the story isn 't the same. Villains provide a problem in the story of the movie or book. The rudest, meanest, dirtiest villain that I know, is Gothel: Rapunzel 's evil step mom.
Do you think that Ned Kelly was a hero, villain or victim? Well too bad, your opinion doesn’t matter. He’s a villain for sure. The definition of a villain is a cruelly malicious person, who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime. This completely sums up Ned Kelly.
Have you ever noticed that a common theme in movies are usually conservative? A recurring trend that is seen in films are either patriarchal family, use of firearms, and sometimes the viewers are strangled into witnessing christians practicing their faith. A good example of a movie that has all three of these aspects is the new critically acclaimed movie A Quiet Place. This movie has a 95% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is too much praise for a movie that is so oblivious to the problems the real world is facing (Rotten Tomatoes). John Krasinski (who was the director) claims he is liberal in his political standpoint, but it’s hard to tell when his movie is littered with conservative values.
A hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities (Hero). A Villain is a person who has evil actions or motives to harm people (Villain). In my opinion, a hero is usually the person in the story that everyone likes or looks to for help and the villain is the misunderstood or worst person in a situation. As humans we can be portrayed as a hero or villain when diverse situations occur. In August Wilson’s play, “Fences” Troy Maxson’s past, present and future caused significant traits of being called a hero and a villain in segments throughout the play.
His main goal is to cause harm, yet he is never satisfied with the cruelties he
When Superman was little he was just an alien that landed on earth, but now he is an icon of goodness to the world. He has inspired the world with his high moral values and has taught us many things about justice and life. He has persuaded countless people to continue working hard and giving everything they can despite of the odds. He is the most powerful person on earth and yet he is humble and honest, two great characteristics of a leader. Superman believes the only way to progress as a person is to accept new ideas, like voting him as president.
Alan Moore brings forth a morally ambivalent protagonist in V for Vendetta, wherein a mysterious hero by the name of V exhibits moral vigilantism to combat the bigoted and totalitarian government that has overtaken London. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a hero is a “person admired for achievements and noble qualities” or “one who shows great courage,” a definition redolent of V’s valiant actions to overthrow the oppressive Norsefire regime, which serves as the villain that “opposes the hero.” To achieve his means of freeing society from the villain Norsefire’s tyranny, V makes a series of ethically equivocal decisions, including murder, torture, and revenge. However, despite utilizing violence in his endeavors, V is indeed a hero due to his vigilantism opposing corruption and recalcitrant actions responding to Norsefire’s breach of societal obligation in properly administering a justice system. Moore’s characterization of authoritative figures within Norsefire advocates their role as villains due to their immoral motivations behind being officials; V’s opposition and movement to end their reign brings him forth as a hero and insurgent of society.
Many people do not realize that Al Capone was known for being both good and bad. People assume he was a murderer but he was never convicted of committing a murder or massacre. The only thing he was ever convicted of was tax evasion. He helped people more than most realize. So the question is, with a good family and good schooling what made him turn to a life of crime?
Each year in many countries around the world people are murdered in the name of “justice”. But can justice really include a sanitised form of revenge? Many people are for the death penalty regardless of what it actually is. A major way that the death penalty is flawed is shown in the amount of innocent people who are sentenced to death.
5. Antagonist: A. It is the person who is against the main character or protagonist. B. Death the godfather is the antagonist. It was shown as antagonist when he gave warning to his godson after he cheated him (p. 14). Later he totally became against his godson when the son cheated for the second time and the death killed him (P. 14).
