However, what some people don’t really realize is that though calling a certain time Camelot sounds pleasant and fairy tale like, it really wasn’t as wonderful in the time of Arthur as it seems. Though King Arthur was a strong ruler with a beautiful castle, a large kingdom, and a panel of loyal knights, not everything was as fantastic as we would like to think. Mrs. Kennedy meant the term Camelot as a positive, assuring phrase, but as the Arthurian age and Camelot had many issues, so did the Kennedy presidency. At the time Sir Launcelot and Queen Guinevere had been secretly hiding their love for eachother. Elaine; who had fallen in love with Sir Launcelot through the many stories she was told; and her father, King Pelles’, used Sir Launcelot’s secret love as a way to fulfill their own desires.

The Arthurian Code: Chivalry “Chivalry is dead” is a very common phrase, however what does it actually mean? This famous saying refers back to the time of King Arthur in the Middle Ages. In order to be a knight, one had to follow the Arthurian Code of Chivalry. The word chivalry was used to describe what a perfect knight would be, and the code outlines the basic understanding of how a knight should act. The regulations assigned the ethics and morals that a knight had to attain, and the rules were held with great respect and honor.

King Arthur is a brave king because he was who pulled the Excalibur from its stone, not any other knight nor king.
