Byron E. King Byron E. King was born on May 4, 1910 a white male who went to the Missouri Penitentiary for killing a taxi driver who goes by the name George Speer in St. Louis his motive was to rob the 68 year old of his money which was only $3.25 on January 17th, 1936 Speer told them that it was King when he was on his deathbed. He is one out of 40 people who was killed in the gas chamber he died with Hydrocyanic acid gas poison. The night that it happen before he was executed at 1:28 a.m., King smoked cigarettes and chatted with the prison staff, He was dead seven minutes later. He was 27 years old when he died on November 4th, 1938.
Sundiata, the first king of Mali began the Keita dynasty where the title "Mansa" was used to identify someone \a, part of the dynasty. Mansa Musa, a 14th century Mali king, was a part of the Keita dynasty. He was born in either the late 13th century or early 14th century and little is known about his early life. However, the life and reign of Sundiata allows for a better understanding of the rule of Mansa Musa. Sundiata laid the foundation for Mansa Musa to make Mali a place of great prosperity ("Sundiata").
King Kamehameha Among the great islands of Hawaii there was a prophecy foretold by one of the highest ranking Kapunas. This Kapuna stated that when a comet lit the Hawaiian sky, that year a baby boy would be born, and this baby would be the one to move the great Naha stone that sat on the Hilo side of the Big Island, and he would be the killer of kings and finally unite the Hawaiian island chain under one throne. Thus the year Halley’s comet made an appearance over the Hawaiian islands in the year 1758 a boy named Kamehameha was born on the big island whose named translated as “the lonely one”.
King Tut is a very important figure in both history and science due to his economic decisions, his mummy, and how he ruled Egypt. Not only was he important in his time, but also in the 21st century. He continues to answer mysteries the world is asking due to his corpse as well as his economic decisions in ancient Egypt. Although there are many different theories about his death, many people are discovering new evidence every day. King Tut will continue to answer our questions through the means of history and science.
In mythology, Theseus has to go through six labors, and kill mythological monsters. The Athenians used these labors to represent the political unification of Attica under Athens. On the Treasury of the Athenians, the metopes on the south side tell the adventures of Theseus from left to right in this order: "Theseus and Athena, Theseus and Sinis, Theseus and the Crommyonian sow, Theseus and Sciron, Theseus and the Bull of Marathon, and Theseus and the Captive Amazon. " Theseus' adventures were placed on the south side because it was the Sacred Way.
Micheal King Junior was born in January 15, 1929 and died on April 4, 1968. He was the second child out of three children. His older sister was Willie Christine and his younger brother was Alfred Daniel Williams. He changed his name to Martin Luther King Jr.

He made Athens the political and cultural focus of Greece with the development of the Athenian democracy and empire in the late 5th Century BCE and is well known for the rebuild of the Acropolis which begun in 447BCE. Pericles successfully led a military campaign in Corinth and sponsored the formation of the Athenian province in Thrace and Black Sea coast in 454BCE before being elected one of Athens’ leading generals in 443BCE which he held for the remainder of his life. Pericles was born into one of the leading families in Athens; his father being a military commander for Athens in the battle of Mycale in 479BCE and his mother belonging to the culturally powerful Alcmaeonidae family. His father was Xanthippus who married into the controversial family of the Alcmaeonids before leaving their

When they were still under the rule of England the colonists loyalties were to their states, not the king (Morone, 110). One choice we had was a unitary government. This is when the national government made all of the laws for the people and had all of the political authority (Morone, 110). Another option was confederation.
In the short story Theseus retold by Edith Hamilton, a boy named Theseus traveles on a quest to kill the minotaur, a half man, half bull being. Once Theseus learned about the sacrifice of seven children “Theseus told his father that he was going to Crete (…) [and] He was going to kill the Minotaur and end the terror”. Theseus is going to try to kill the Minotaur to end the distraught it has caused Athenians. Theseus received the help from the beautiful Princess Ariadne who gave him a large roll of string in which he tied to the back of the door of the labyrinth “the string playing out behind him as he went”.
The largest festival in Ancient Greece was the festival of Dionysus. This celebration lasted from early March to late April. The Greeks would sing, dance, and celebrate their God, Dionysus. The goat was seen as a symbol of Dionysus. Men would dress up as figures with horns and tails, which they called satyrs.
Theseus More than Just a Hero When someone hears the name Theseus the first thing that comes to mind is the story of the Minotaur. Theseus is known now in the modern age as the far-famed slayer of the mythological beast, but really he is so much more than just your everyday do gooder that exterminates wild beasts. He is the protector, defender, and friend to all helpless, defenseless, and poor beings wherever he may go. Now how is the story of Theseus applicable today after nearly 2,500 years?
Hercules and Theseus, two great heroes from mythology, seem to be similar in many ways. Both extremely brave and noble; with a love of danger and adventure mixed with compassion, creates the perfect heroes. Their stories intertwine with one another’s when Hercules has to save Theseus from the chair of forgetfulness in Hades. Theseus saved Hercules when he was distraught with intent to kill himself. In a similar way, they both stood by their friends no matter the cost.
The year of the sacrifice had fallen at the time when Theseus had been proclaimed to be King Aegeus’ son , “[and] at once Theseus came forward and offered to be one of the victims”(125). The Athenian's valued Theseus’ courage without knowing that he also planned to kill the Minotaur. Confidence filled Theseus as he decided to look for the Minotaur in the labyrinth. When he finally came across the sleeping Minotaur he decided to attack it, “and with his fists-he had no other weapon-he battered the monster to death”(126). Great strength surged through him as he killed the Minotaur, finally freeing the Athenian's from having to sacrifice their
The ship of theseus is a thought experiment used to show the nature of identity. Ship A leaves harbor with a hull full of parts identical to every part on Ship A. When at sea, the men on the ship start to replace every piece of Ship A with the identical parts from the hull. They continue until every piece of wood and every bolt has been exchanged. The ship that is comprised of the new identical parts is Ship B. When the ship is brought back to harbor the men construct a new ship with parts left over, this is Ship C.
Oedipus the King is one of the most ironic plays ever written. Sophocles, the author, is a famous philosopher of the ancient times The Play is about Oedipus, the king of Thebes, who kills his father and marries his mother. An oracle warned Laius, the king of Thebes prior to Oedipus, that his son would murder him. Accordingly, when his wife, Jocasta, had a son, he exposed the baby by first pinning his ankles together. The infant, who was adopted by King Polybus of Corinth and his wife was then brought up as their very own.
