Imperialism did not improve the lives of the colonized people because of westernization that changed the culture, modernization which damaged the economy, and social Darwinism that forced westerner ideas. Social Darwinism did not improve the lives of the colonized people because it made them abandon their beliefs and, imperialism wasn 't good for the colonized people because the idea didn 't come from the country it was forced in the country.The reason why Social Darwinism did not improve the colonized people is because none of the colonized people didn 't really have rights. Social Darwinism is when the imperialist use “the survival of the fittest” as an excuse invades and change other countries. The other countries made many unfair changes without the consent of the people. When the other country went to take over the colonized government they demoted the current government officials in order to make new laws that benefited them. As the British imperialized the country of Nigeria, they also wiped out a lot of Nigerian tradition. For an example, a lot of traditional Nigerian authority figures were replaced. Modernization is the idea of improving or updating an area. The theory of modernization did not improve the colonized people. The Koreans were overruled and overpowered by Japanese. When japan took over. This affected the men they were forced to leave their village. They changed the way that the Koreans thoughts and their beliefs of god. The Japanese made the Koreans farm and do their jobs differently from what they were used to. It was hard for the Koreans to adapt to this change.
