Imperialism allows countries to extend their power through a policy and influence through diplomacy or military force. The late nineteenth century was known as the “Age of Imperialism” a time when the United States rapidly expanded, defending many countries with not enough power to defend for themselves. United States was on a specific world mission to spread liberty and democracy. Along the way America came across China and it’s valuable resources, U.S. could trade for. Imperialism is a positive policy for the U.S.A. because it enlarges trade, helps weaker countries allowing them to spread culture, and expands industry.
One of the main reasons is it enlarged trade with other countries. According to Document 1 the Map, trade was enlarged by imperialism. The main country U. S. wanted to trade was with China, because there were chances they would be able to trade with the other countries and become partners. There were also, many valuable resources in China that U. S. needed. If the U.S. was able to control the islands Hawaii, Guam, Japan, and Philippines that were between them and China they would be able to trade faster and easier. …show more content…

was able to rescue weak countries which allowed them to spread their culture. The weak countries were able to be rescued from oppression. In document 3, a picture was shown where on the top the countries were in rags before being rescued. Then, on the bottom it showed the same countries but, dressed as businessmen and this was after they were rescued by the U. S. After United States went and fought for the weak countries these countries were able to regain their balance. While the U. S. was there they showed them the different aspects of their culture. This would influence some to give there’s up and start this culture instead, because they would want to be like the people that made their lives
