This story is written by Raold Dahl and is told in a limited third person. the protagonist of the story in mary moloney, This story takes place in the house of Ms and Mrs Maloney, Ms. Maloney is a careful, kind , emotional person but is not strong enough to make the better choice. She keeps checking up on him to see if everything is fine with him. This make’s Mary tend to put other people's problems as her main priority. Then we have this to explain what type of person she is “After she finds out her husband has been cheating on her her emotions have been overwhelmed and she hits him with a frozen lamb leg. All right, she told herself. So I’ve killed him(Dahl 4).” When she kills him she puts her unborn baby as her main priority. This makes her delusional to make her own choices and relies on others for help. We can also see Mary was not strong enough to control her emotions and let her evil get the best of her. This also can mean that she does what she thinks is right. This part can also be overlooked “On the other hand, what about the child? What were the laws about murderers with unborn children? (Dahl 4)”Mary probably thought that killing him was best for her and her child. In a different perspective u can see that she only cares about herself and punishes everyone for what wrongs her. As we can tell that she loves her child, and was thinking of how to make her kids' life better. From the quote we can understand that she is a very caring person or can also be perceived as a very selfish person
