Larry Bird Larry Bird was one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Bird played professional basketball for 13 seasons and did some beneficial things during that time (Horner). Bird was an American former professional basketball player, coach, and executive in the national basketball association (“Larry Bird”). Bird went to Indiana state university, where he helped start back up the basketball program and carried the team to a 33-1 record during his senior year (“Larry Bird”). Bird's full name was Larry Joe Bird (Legends Profile”). During Bird's high school career, he went to Spring Vally high school and went to Indiana state for college (“Legends Profile”). During Bird's sophomore year, he broke his ankle so he couldn’t play that year (“Legends Profile”). He started during his high school career and was a center (“Larry Bird”). After Bird's high school career, he was drafted by the Boston Celtics (Horner). Bird was known as one of the greatest players in the NBA (“Legends Profile”).
