Leaders have helped us in this world; from leaders in the past to leaders here today, they have all helped us at one point to understand what their vision was and how to make us stronger, whether it was directly or indirectly. The KKK and WCC wanted to keep things the way they were keep everyone segregated and to keep white supremacy around. Although the man who assassinated Martin Luther King, Jr. James Earl Ray killed him out of spite and just pure hatred. From Boycotts to sit-ins and marches no matter how Martin protested it was always peaceful and he was a leader in everyone’s eyes. He was brave being one of the only peaceful protestors there was because every other protestor was violent and everyone else who wanted segregation to stay was also violent killing people and was willing to do anything to keep segregation around. His contributions to help stop segregation helped the world never forget who he was, in 1963 was labeled man of the year, in 1964 he won a Nobel peace prize, in 1977 he was awarded the presidential award of freedom, and in the 80s his birthday became a holiday to help his name live on forever.
