The learner profile that best describes me in the inquirer. I am an inquirer because I want to learn more about topics discussed in school, I independently explore topics I am curious about outside of school, and I help others explore their curiosity.
I am very interested in the subjects at school, especially science and math. I am always seeking to broaden my knowledge of these STEM subjects. For example, this year in chemistry, my class learned about orbitals and sublevels. I had the basic knowledge that I needed to do well in the class, but I was still very curious and asked my chemistry teacher questions after every class to broaden my understanding of the topic. In this instance grades did not motivate me, because I already had the necessary knowledge, but instead my natural curiosity and love of learning motivated me, making me an inquirer
As much as I love the subjects taught in school, I also explore my interests outside

Over the summer I had the opportunity to work with other like-minded students in an Intro to Engineering course at Johns Hopkins. For the three weeks that I spent on campus, I worked with other students to explore all types of engineering from civil to financial. During our largest project of the camp, my group had to measure the tensile strength of different spaghetti and find the young’s modulus, then use that data, along with our new knowledge of vector physics, to create a bridge out of spaghetti that could hold the most weight. My group performed the best out of all the groups because I lead my group to draw inspiration from other bridge designs. Our inquiry into other designs to understand how they work expanded our knowledge of bridge design and allowed my team to win the competition. My ability to be an inquirer helped my group gain the advantage through my research of the advantages of different bridge
