The lecture focuses on the Civil Rights Movement and the most prominent events and people. According to the lecture, the Civil Rights movement began before the 1960s. They began back to the 1600s and during the slave rebellions. The Civil Rights Movement could also be seen during the Progressive Era with people such as W.E.B Dubois and Booker T. Washington. Organizations such as NAACP and NACW were also part of the Civil Rights Movement. Lynchings and racism were still very common in the South. The criminals were never put in prison or fairly tried. Two of the most popular Civil Rights people that was mentioned in the lecture were Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rosa Parks. There also many restrictions and requirements when voting. These things
