Marijuana has been labeled as taboo in America for many years. Nevertheless some states have legalized it while others have not. Despite its many uses the federal government considers the possession and usage of marijuana a criminal act, even though there is evidence that legalization would have a positive influence on America. In this essay, I plan to argue why marijuana should be legalized. Marijuana has been illegal in America for many years because our society is afraid that legalization would cause more harm to our country than good. Marijuana has been labeled as a gateway drug that leads to crime and violence despite used by many well educated professionals on a daily basis. the combination of fear and the stigma that has been placed upon marijuana has hidden its ability to be studied properly in an effort to discredit many claims. Marijuana has numerous benefits to our society One example would be its medicinal uses. But hemp can also be used for paper along time ago before marijuana was made illegal people used hemp to make paper and canvas. If the paper companies could transfer over from making paper out of trees and start making it out of hemp. It would make them more money and it would stop the devastation of the world's natural forests. One acer of hemp can make more paper than one acer of trees which would also help agriculture.Farmers all over the US would be able to grow massive amounts of marijuana all year round which means their would be a unlimited amount of hemp for paper
