Leon Hess was born on March 14 of 1914 in Asbury Park, New Jersey to Jewish parents who came from Lithuania to the United States. When they arrived in the United States, Leon’s father, Mores, took a job as an oil delivery man. As he got older, Leon learned much of oil and business from his father. He began working as a driver for his father’s company until it went bankrupt during the Great Depression in 1933. However, the company did not die. After it went bankrupt, Leon decided to completely reorganize the entire thing; an idea that he would never regret. It is 1933. We are in the midst of the Great Depression. We are in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Leon Hess is only 19 years. To begin his idea, Leon took baby steps. He purchases a 1927 second hand 615-gallon oil delivery truck. It exists for oil. In all ways. Hess not only sells crude oil and natural gas, it also produces, develops, purchases and transports it. Moreover, the gas stations they operate, most of which have convenience stores inside, provide them with yet another source of income as well. Their propaganda also takes in money and spreads their name, like the toy trucks did. Actually, as for the toy trucks, the early models have become valuable collectibles and each year's edition sell out quickly. Finally, not to mention, that owning all of the purchases and merges they agreed on gave them more money. One example is HETCO (Hess Energy Trading Company) founded by two Goldman Sachs partners. HETCO is an energy trading company that offers its clients/partners access to global and financial energy markets. HETCO is an advisor to some of the largest enterprises in the world. It is responsible for a significant market share of Electricity, Natural Gas, Weather, Crude Oil, Refined products, and other energy stocks.
