Jean Laffite was an American patriot, a famous pirate, and, a traitor to all. Laffite has spied for Britain, Spain, and America. Jean betrayed all but America. He was one of the best spies the united states had had at the time. He could hire other people to do his spying instead of risking his own life, but he did it all by himself.
While choosing a play to direct, I was drawn to Edmond Rostand’s play Cyrano de Bergerac. Edmond Rostand was born in Marseilles, France, in 1868. His father was a poet, but pushed Edmond to career chasing law. When he was a college student in Paris, he found a deep passion for French literature and theater. He eventually did earn a law degree, but he primarily focused on theatre.
I had no preconceived ideas about Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson before seeing the musical. After watching the musical, there were a few things that stood out to me to help me understand different aspects of the musical. Knowing very little about Andrew Jacksons life, the acting helped me understand different aspects of his life. The part of the production that helped me most understand the theme of the musical was the costumes.
Personally, Phantom of the Opera was the first musical I had ever seen. I remember being in middle school and my dad suggesting that I watch it and me shaking my head because I did not even like opera. Begrudgingly, I agreed to watch it and after seeing the whole thing it shocked me. I was so surprised with how much I enjoyed seeing every second of it. That show really got me interested in the theatre world.
What would be the best ghoul's name? The perfect name would be Marie Antoinette. Marie Antoinette was the princess of France. It was told that when she heard about the peasants not having possession of bread, she spoke, "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche". Which means, "Let them eat brioche.
Cinderella was the princess of Sparta, and she was a loving and caring queen and all her subjects loved her. The year when all this took place was 400 B.C. The country was at war with the evil dictator, Stefano. He was trying to take over Sparta and all that lied within. He wanted to become king and take on Cinderella in as his slave.
The first time I went to see a Camelot Musical was a couple of years ago to support my friend who played one of Ursula 's tentacles in the Little mermaid production. That day I was blown away by the performance of the actors,the singing,the set,everything! I was obsessed with that Disney Character for a while after that,I listened to the soundtrack in the morning,in the car,while doing chores. Camelot clearly left an impression on me. Now I am proud to say I am in a Camelot production that is debuting on the 27th!

When one reads Les Miserables it may be assumed that Jean Valjean and Javert are opposites, but upon closer consideration, their similarities are more numerous than a first glance lets on. To begin, they are both men and will therefore both struggle with things of men, which gives immediate grounds for comparison. A ground for contrast is also present, for every man struggles with different matters. Jean Valjean and Javert are most similar in the way that both want to, and do, good - or at least what they envision as good. Jean Valjean aids the helpless, his enemies, his friends and gives to the poor.
I have always been a particularly musical person. When I was younger, I wanted to become a singer when I grew up, but upon joining the choir in elementary I realized I did not have the talent for singing that I thought I had. Continually singing off key and never sounding as good as my peers did, I decided to confine myself to singing at home where only my family could hear me. Despite this revelation that I was, in fact, a terrible singer, I still wanted to participate in some type of musical performance and decided to join the band in middle school. After trying out various different instruments, I settled on the flute and quickly fell in love.
This essay will examine the historical accuracy of the film Les Miserables in terms of the social, economic and political conditions in French society post French Revolution. The film Les Miserables depicts an extremely interesting time in French history (from about 1815-1832.) Even though the story line does not depict every detail and event that occurred during the time period as well as the fact that some aspects are dramatized for entertainment purposes, the film effectively spans thirty years of economic, political and social aspects of French Society. However it also manages to bring in references to the past, the French Revolution (1789-1799) and the impact it had on the society portrayed in the film.
In the book, Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo, Cosette is a girl who relies on Jean Valjean for everything. She is very dependent and would not know how to survive without him. On the other hand, Eponine is very independent. She is high spirited which has allowed her to escape the wrath of her parents. Eponine is a better companion for Marius than Cosette because of her resilient nature and sacrificial tendencies.
