“A person who has never made a mistake has never tried something new.”- Albert Einstein. Numerous individuals find themselves making mistakes on the daily. Nobody is always going to do the right thing. Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI went through a personal growth journey. They had experienced making mistakes and learning from it. Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette had an arranged marriage. Marie Antoinette belonged under the Austrian Empire and Louis was from the French Empire. They got married to form an alliance between France and Austria. This caused many troubles for Marie because she did not have a permanent spot in the throne/her marriage unless she had produced an heir. She was under a lot of pressure. She was so young (16 yrs old) when she had married Louis XVI. In a sense she did not know what was coming her way. Marie was very friendly and courteous and always tried to please everyone. Marie would hug people instead of bowing and did not give into all the gossip that the French women would speak of. She did what was expected of her, except for producing a heir. Because of Marie not being able to produce an heir, many people talked about her and it made her feel out of place. She consistently felt watched and just wanted everything to work out. Marie had received multiple letters from her mother with regards to not producing an heir. She was reminded of how her place was not permanent unless she did so. However, this did not fix all the her problems. Many of the French citizens were infuriated because of the way their money was handled/treated. Marie Antoinette used the taxes, the French citizens payed, on country houses, parties, and jewels. Her spending reflected the French people while she is living in luxury the citizens suffered through food shortages and higher taxes. Therefore people broke out into riots. Versailles had no longer became a safe place to stay so many people began to flee away. Marie knew her place as queen so she stayed with her husband. This was the reason why many people seemed to be ruthless towards Marie Antoinette. They were more forgiving towards Louis. Although he also spent money carelessly, he had a good cause behind
