Re: Letter of Recommendation for Joshua Whiting To The RA Selection Committee: I write on behalf of Joshua Whiting’s application for a Resident Assistant position. I believe Josh to be an exemplary student-scholar as well as a person of tremendous character with significant leadership skills. I met Josh in my first semester of college in our biology class. We were both Biochemistry majors so we got to skip Biology 1 and therefore were both new to this new world of college but already in a group full of sophomores and students who had been in college for multiple semesters. Naturally we gravitated to each other due to this aspect we had in common.

Since coming to State Office, I have had the opportunity to gain valuable experience within the Policy Unit. As the CSE Manager 1 of the Policy/Quality Control/Non-IV-D and Central Registry that knowledge could be put to work for Child Support Enforcement. In addition, I would have the new opportunity of using prior management experience to further the agency. With this letter, it is my hope to illustrate that I am not only the best candidate for the job because I can do it; I am the best candidate, because I have successfully performed many of the tasks which are led by this position. Here are a few examples of those tasks: • I have worked to Implement Legislation passed during the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Legislative Sessions, which required

Martin Luther’s reasons for challenging the Catholic church changed after he translated the New Testament. Before the New Testament was translated (document A), Martin Luther had a very respectful tone displayed through his writing. In document A, Luther was bothered by the practice of indulgences, but continued in his letter to say that he was not blaming anyone. 18 years later in Document B, Luther had translated the New testament and realized that the Pope was misinterpreting the scriptures. He was then very disrespectful through his words and blamed the Pope for taking people’s money and by so believing that the person who paid for the indulgence was saved.
Please accept my resume to showcase my interest in the position of Resident Assistant. I believe that I am an excellent candidate due to my leadership ability, my academic achievement, and my overall attitude. I am a firm believer in academia being the top priority while in college and I have proven this attitude through my performance over the past semester. As a Political Science and International Business double major at Monmouth College, who is on the Pre-Law track, I aspire to work in politics one day as a Political Campaign Manager. My academic attitude, I believe, is important for a Resident Assistant to hold because as a RA, one should be a role model for the other members of the hall.
I’m currently a student at San Joaquin Valley College, working towards becoming a certified medical assistant in which I have proficiency in typing skills and accomplished CPR and HIPAA certification. My passion is the medical field where I can assist the needs and services of others while being able to connect and create a comfortable environment for patients. On an interpersonal level, I excel as a conversationalist to personalize each interaction I encounter. With previous volunteer work for organizations, I’ve come to realize I strive in wanting to make a positive difference in people’s lives and hope to one day be able to do it on a daily basis. Making a difference in people’s lives at times can take the littlest effort and in doing so

Why do you want to be a Resident Assistant again next year? I want to be a RA next year again to keep improving the lives of students on campus through building community, planning programs, and being available to residents. First I want to build community by making everyone in my house feel welcome and appreciated. Welcoming starts on move in day and continues throughout the year with conversations and having an open.
If you asked me “What do you want to be when you grow up?” at the age of 5, I’d tell you I wanted to be a vet. At the age of 10, I would have replied “a doctor”. At 15, I would've said nurse. Now, at 18 years old, I have the dream of becoming a physician assistant.
I want to be a physician because I want people to grow old. At the age of 6, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with leukemia. By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. We see the process of aging and choose not to embrace it.
