First I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read this letter. My purpose in writing this letter is to express my desired interest in joining the Phi Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. Growing up being bullied and constantly picked on with no one to protect me in my time of need and having no one to reciprocate that same sense of protection and love left me left a big void in my life. Being raised in a single parent household my mother tried to take on both roles and raised me to become the man I am today. And as I grow older and I reminisce about all my mother has done for me I to admire her strength and faith tremendously. Not taking away from my father’s but his presence in my life up today hasn’t been strong and honestly didn’t make any impactful changes in my life. Growing up in a small country town I had very little exposure to Greek organizations, until my uncle started taking me to football games at Winston-Salem State University. Once I was exposed I took that opportunity to understand and observe the different organizations on campus I realized that Omega Psi Phi was the best fit for me. One of the biggest influences in my life Dr.Michael Magruder a Brother of Omega Psi Phi told us on a daily basis the importance of getting our work done, being respectful to not only women but to our fellow man as well. Doc always told us about this philosophy called paradigm shift and how once we fully understand what that means how we will be able to see how things work and be able to expand our minds and think outside of the norm. The lessons and lectures that Dr.Magruder gave us stuck with me and will always stick with me he instilled in me
