The purpose of this proposal is to encourage the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University to create an event for students to connect with their college. The research conducted will determine the feasibility of creating a college festival designed for liberal arts students.
The College of Liberal Arts has a diverse student body with people from all walks of life. There are various ways students can exchange ideas in the classroom to learn more about the world today. While the classroom is building those political and cultural bridges, the liberal arts school has no clear social bridge or outlet that brings students and faculty together.

The questions will have opposing answers and a blank section to allow students to further express their opinion on the matter. To amass a large number of responses, I will utilize social media and my collegiate network. For example, as an officer for the Liberal Arts Student Council, I am able to obtain a data pool between 70-150 students due to knowing many members and colleagues. In addition, there are various social media groups within the Texas A&M system that I can post my survey and get more responses from liberal arts majors. Contact the Business Student Council at Texas A&M that conducts Mays Fest to understand how a festival should be organized.
Another crucial aspect of this research is contacting the Business Student Council. I hope to email back and forth with an officer to gain insight on how they run Mays Fest. I can potentially get more information on logistics, sponsors, marketing, and getting vendors. This research task will also provide key answers on how to delegate responsibilities and forming a similar system to implement a successful festival.
4. Research how successful/unsuccessful other campuses are when creating a college-related festival.
This task requires internal and external resources. I hope to utilize the libraries online database to research the success rate of festivals. These festivals do not have to be college specific as a festival typically has the same components needed to be successful. I will be looking for feasibility, marketing, and interests of these festivals to determine how a Liberal Arts festival could be successful in the future. In addition, I hope to research the participation rate of events that occur on campus at Texas A&M. If these participation rates are low, then perhaps this event can cater to liberal arts students and another demographic; for example, high school students who are considering the possibility of attending Texas A&M as a liberal arts
