The JFK Library and Museum in Boston on scenic Columbia Point, is an ode to one of the most charismatic presidents the United States has ever seen, John F. Kennedy. Most of the exhibits consist of items donated to the museum by his wife, Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis, and the location itself was chosen by Jackie. The JFK museum represents a rare time of bipartisan cooperation in American history, and the untimely death of a great American leader. John Kennedy was elected as the 35th president of the United States in 1960. Though a Democrat, JFK gained support from both parties.

Freedom Summer, or the Mississippi Summer Project, was a volunteer campaign launched in June 1964 to attempt to register as many African-American voters as possible in Mississippi, which had historically excluded most blacks from voting. The project also set up dozens of Freedom Schools throughout Mississippi to aid the local black population. The projects leadership and funding came from the SNCC and COFO, along with hundreds of white college students in the north. In 1963, the SNCC organized a mock vote for blacks, which gave them a chance to prove they were capable of understanding politics. The civil rights activists from both organizations and the white volunteers from the north faced many challenges during the campaign.
Visiting museums is always fun for many people, especially when you are a little kid. You get to see all kinds of different historical works done by the people from the past and present. I recently haven’t been to any museums since I was little, until I got to visit one for this course. For this Action Research Project Paper, I visited Dallas Freedman’s Memorial located in Dallas, Texas. Dallas Freedman’s Memorial is one of the most beautiful museums and quite depressing at the same time.
International African American Museum Opens its Genealogy Center Photo Credit: BET Charleston’s International African American Museum will soon offer a unique experience to its visitors. Most of the museums people visit allow them to learn and familiarize themselves with the history, culture, arts, and legacy of African American people. However, although you can experience all of that too, Charleston provides an added bonus. The Museum’s Center for Family History will serve as the national genealogy center at Gadsden’s Wharf. This site will be solely dedicated to the study and research of African-American ancestry.

The Liberty Bell may have a lot of history behind it but is mostly remembered as a symbol of peace. The Liberty Bell was first ordered in 1751 to celebrate the fifty year anniversary of Pennsylvania original constitution. Between the years of 1753 and 1828, the bell was asked to be remade several times. The bell was either too fragile, brittle, or didn’t look quite right. The Liberty Bell was first rang to celebrate the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence.
