Lidtke Mill: A Short Story

Don and Dave are best friends, they do a lot together. They love to play sports, sleepover at each other’s houses, and even travel together. One day they decided to travel to Lidtke Mill. The mill closed many years back, and it stands on the Upper Iowa River in Lime Springs Iowa. Long-ago on the 1800s there was a man doing his nightly duty, when turning off the lights he was electrocuted and died his boots are still engraved in the cement. Don and Dave were aware of this and wanted to see it up close they arrived at the mill about 10 PM at night the children are very excited to see Lidtke Mill. He starts walking around the noises start getting more intense Don wonders if Dave is still alive. While Don is walking he saw a shadow of a human like figure he thinks it could be Dave. Don yells “hello!” no answer he yells again “hello!” no answer. Don starts walking to the figure, he is very scared but he needs to find Dave. When Don gets to see the shadow up close he is amazed by what he sees. Nothing, only a shadow. Don starts walking around he hears a faint voice in the distance. He starts walking in the direction of the sound, and he hears a spooky voice coming towards him. He starts running away but feels a hand touch him, he turns around and finds Dave. Don and Dave go out to find the ghost. When they are walking they hear the voice of a ghost, and they want to find it. When searching they see a shadow they find a white blanket lying on the ground and the a voice yells boo! And they find their friend Daniel from Delaware and find out it was all a prank. Then the young boys a about to leave the mill when they hear a sound. They think the Daniel is playing another prank, but see a ghost who comes up behind them and bam! They vanish… They were never seen
