The topic that I chose to write about is How Most People Live A Lie Pretending To Be Something Their Not . In the book The Great Gatsby there were alot of scene/moments where you saw that people were pretending to be something their not.Throughout this story it’s gonna tell you things about broken marriages, unhappy people, people who want each other wives etc. For instance the biggest one to me was Gatsby himself . He lived his life as a millionaire and had a party at his house that I’m pretty sure most people thought he had got his house through his inheritance , but he told Nick it took him three years to get his house. Gatsby was a drug dealer and he liked to gamble. Gatsby had a crush on Daisy. Tommy and Daisy were married. Tommy was having an affair with another woman. How I know this is because Tommy and Nick went to with each other to see someone and she had told her husband to go get two chairs and sat down and began to talk to Tommy as she knew him already wh she already did because the two of them was having a affair . The woman name was Myrtle . Myrtle was married to George. Him and Daisy both knew about Tommy and Myrtle’s affair they both were having. Gatsby wanted Daisy so he used Nick to get to her by inviting her over there for tea. Gatsby was very nervous and was scared to talk to Daisy , but to make a long story short he ended up going in there talking to Daisy. She had seemed to like him like he had liked her. To me I really feel like Daisy was much better off with Gatsby than Tommy because she seemed much happier whenever she was with Gatsby. They both wanted each other , but Daisy was more scared of going after what she wants. Tommy was the same was Daisy was I guess that’s why they were still married .
