The importance of life and the world that surrounds us was defined and crafted by the hands of God Himself. Life is one of the few things we are each given that we should all discover. We each have a purpose. If we do not go forth and go search, how are we to uncover the truths that make us who we are?
In Act III of Our Town, the character, Emily, asks the question, “Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it...every, every minute,” the Stage Manager then replies to her question with, “No...the saints and poets maybe, they do, some.” In this play, the meaning signifies the true sense of the events that take place day to day. The characters in the play do not hold any real emotional attachment to what goes on in their lives. When it comes time for Emily to relive certain parts of her life, you can sense how regretful she is because she never really 'realized life.' Emily becomes remorseful that she never took the time to surely look at the true beauty of life, and now she is no longer alive to make that change.

To me, personally, I view and value life as something precious. If I die young or if I am 90 years old, lying on my deathbed, I want to have the confidence and belief that I sincerely noticed life. I don't want to be like Emily and regret that I didn't pay enough attention to what went on in my day to day life. I want to know that I fully appreciated it and made the most of
