About 1.1 million people died in the worst concentration camp ever, Auschwitz. The Nazi’s made the camp because the number of arrest was to large for any more of the camps. Auschwitz was a concentration camp that used to be a polish army barracks. The actual name of Auschwitz was, Konzentrationslager Auschwitz. It was made a concentration camp in 1940. There were 28 brick buildings after the Nazi’s were done adding on to the camp.(1) The daily life as a prisoner in Auschwitz was cruel and vulgar. Newcoming prisoners in Auschwitz were separated from their mom or dad if they came with one. After they were split up they had to get a tattoo on their arm of a number which they would be identified from.(2) Then they would get a room with a bunk. …show more content…

Some of this work would include unloading trains of cement, searching through confiscated belongings of the prisoners, working in the workshop, building buildings, and building airplane parts.(5) This would usually take eleven hours of horribly cruel labor.(6) They would get 3 meals though. 3 meals that would barely provide enough nutrients for them. Approximately 1,300 calories were consumed per day.(6) Living conditions were one of the worst parts of living in Auschwitz by far. Prisoners lived in barracks that would hold 700 people but their bunks were small and tight.(6) These buildings were crowded with people and sometimes even horses.(6) The buildings also didn’t have air or heating and they didn’t have any sanitary parts in the area.(6) In the buildings the prisoners would sleep in wooden bunks that would fit 15 people in one bunk.(1) In Auschwitz there were orders that the prisoners would have to follow.(1) They would wake up at 4:30 am in the summer and 5:30 am in the winter.(1) They would get up to a gong and at the first gong they had to make their bed.(1) They would freshen up and get in line for coffee or tea.(1) At the second gong the prisoners would line up for morning roll
