Living in the late 1500’s can be hard sometimes. After the Mayflower landed, people started to warm up to the idea of living in America more. Many people are leaving their homes in England and are taking their families to start a new life in America. Children have a lot of work to do, but so do the adults. Our everyday activities usually involve doing school work and then when we are done we help around the house. Life in the 1500’s can sometimes be hard for multiple reasons. I remember the day when my father first told my family we were leaving England to live in America. It was around ten years after the Mayflower had landed in Massachusetts. My siblings and I did not want to leave England because we had everything we need here. We had a nice home, decent food, friends, and many opportunities for the future. We ended up moving anyway. My father and older brothers went to America first so that they could build our home. When they were almost finished, they sent word to us that we could come. The ride on the ship was long, rocky, and exhausting. The food tasted old and stale. The waters were not so kind to us and so the boat was tossing and rocking back and forth most of the trip over to Massachusetts. Most nights we did not get much sleep because of the waters. On most days we do our school work at home with my mother for a few hours. Once we are done with our school work, my siblings and I help around the house or around our property. If we help around the house, it is usually cleaning, making or fixing clothes, making dinner, or taking care of younger siblings. Around the property there are a few animals and crops that need to be taken care of. Older siblings or just the boys help out around the property. We all try to help as much as we can around the house or property every
