In life, an individual will need need some guidance to help him/her get through it. Fairy tales have tons of life lessons...you just need to look for them. For example, in stories such as The Golden Goose and Cinderella, there are many life lessons about sharing and working hard for the things you need want. When you share most people will give back something in return because you shared. When you work hard and are kind, many things can be given to you in return. In life, when people do something bad, it comes back to bite them - but when you do something good, life rewards you. When someone does an act of kindness, he gets rewarded. For example, in the story Cinderella, she is treated like a servant and abused. But in the end she becomes the Princess. At one point, Cinderella is tasked with the challenge of picking up lentils and beans in two hours. The stepmother said “if you can pick up two tubs of beans that I throw upon the ashes in two hours, then you can go.” But even after that, she said “you cannot go with us, for you have no clothes.” So she went to the Bird at her mother’s grave and asked for what she wanted and was rewarded with “a dress of gold and silver, and silken slippers ornamented with silver.”(Grimm 89 & 90). This shows that because of her life of work, she was finally rewarded with a beautiful dress and slippers. If someone tries to be deceiving or, but Cinderella was able to become the Princess and evil was not rewarded. In another instance at the end of the story, when the Prince is at her house, “Cinderella took a seat at the stool, and, took off her heavy wooden shoes, put on the slipper, which fitted her to a shade; and as she stood up, the Prince looked in her face, and, recognising the beautiful maiden with whom he had danced with, and exclaimed “this is my rightful bride.””(Grimm 92, 93) The bad sisters were given a loss of a toe and a heel and Cinderella was given wealth, a beautiful castle and the eventually, the crown of the Queen.
