The Glass Castle is a memoir that was written by Jeannette Walls, who explains how within her childhood grew up extremely poor and had an alcoholic father, a mother who took advice from no one, and had three siblings, Brian , Lori, and Maureen. Rex and Rose Mary Walls show signs of being permissive or uninvolved parents by having very few demands, neglect to the children's needs, and letting their children make their own decisions. Throughout her memoir, Jeannette had multiple occasions were herself or her siblings would have to fend for themselves, because Rex or Rose Mary refused to hold on to a job. For example “When we wanted money, we walked along the roadside picking up beer cans and bottles that we redeemed for two cents each.”
Jared fails to receive consistent love and affection from his mother who neglects his upbringing and safety, resulting in a discourse with his idea of love. Robinsosn explores the theme of parental neglect's impact on a child's self-worth, Jared strikes his mom with a question “Did you ever think of not having me?”(Robinson 90) which shows how the lack of affection can mislead children’s personal value. The use of foreshadowing by Robinson hints at the fact that Jared may have grown up with a parent who placed more importance on financial gain than other values. Throughout his childhood, his mother was constantly deceiving and cheating in order to exploit money and material possessions which was made known to him when she claimed that “Richie could be the answer to a lot of our problems”(Robinson 21). It is not surprising that his behavior as an adult is characterized by the same lack of moral and ethical principles as his mother’s.
Though the father does it begrudgingly, it makes their relationship

Even though Little Things father made a wrong choice and right now does not have a good relationship with either his soon to be ex-wife and his kid he can still have a good relationship in his future life. In Little Things by Raymond Carver the parents of the baby are very hostile to each other. The father is told he cannot have the baby, so he fights for the baby. In Today Will Be a Quiet Day by Amy Hempel, the father and the kids are very happy with each other.
Sometimes people don’t realize how much their decisions and choices can effect others around them. Parenting is one of these such cases. The thought of having to raise children is loved by many people, but it is often a feared reality. Many people don’t see themselves as being capable of being a parent, even though they are very capable of being a good parent. Some of the best examples of good parenting fall into the book To Kill a Mockingbird.
The way of the relationship between father and child in William Faulkner's Barn Burning is shown in the first passage of the story. As a rule a father-child relationship would be based on true appreciation, adoration, dedication, and deference. These building pieces were missing in Abner and Sarty Snopes relationship. Sarty's faithfulness to his dad seemed to originate from quite a while apprehension of the outcomes of not complying with his dad's charges. The "nigger" that could put the fault on Abner was not to be found.
Atticus, Bob Ewell, and Walter Cunningham all have very different parenting styles. Although they have different parenting styles they help portray three main themes of the book, courage, justice, and prejudice. They raised their children differently but over all they turned out alright and happy.
It is Luke’s fatherly love for his daughter that leads to his dilemma between pursuing the truth of doing what is just and right and demonstrating his love for his daughter. " A Father's Story," by Andre Dubus shares that the love of a father toward his own daughter means that he will protect her even if the process calls for him to misplace a part of himself. To protect his daughter, the father is forced to undergo challenges, a battle between his mind and his values. In the story, Luke Ripley, the protagonist, drops his core principles and ethical values deliberately to protect his daughter. I believe that the central conflict in "A Father's story" is a betrayal of a friend's trust and personal values and ethics for the sake of love, because
Bringing Up “Before Jem looks at anyone else he looks at me, and I’ve tried to live so I can look squarely back at him.” This is what Atticus says in a conversation of his parenting methods. In her novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee demonstrates the most effective way to raise children is with a mutual relationship of respect. The method of parenting in this coming to age story is not conventional, but the results show that a respectful relationship is impactful to a child when compared to other examples.

In the poem “Mother to Son” Langston Hughed teaches us a lesson to persevere through hardship. The Mother in the poem used metaphors, dialect, and anaphora to teach us a lesson. Little Girls are supposed to melt their daddy’s hearts. That is common knowledge for many in the world, that men can be heartless and cruel, but when they look down at their newborn daughter, their hearts melt, and they come to know that they have created something precious and fragile, and commit themselves to loving and caring for this new little life. Dad teaches their little girls about the world, showing them the many dangers that await them, and protect them from those dangers for as long as they can. They chase away the young boys who only have one thing on their mind, comfort them and give them all the strength that they possess.
A daddy’s influence on his daughter’s life mostly shapes her overall ego, self-image, confident and her opinion of other men. “How Dads approach their life will often serve as his daughter to build off her own life when they grow up, even if the sees a
