However, since the authors did not perform quantitative analyses, the resulting bias is estimated to be limited. Despite these possible biases, the authors believe that the systematically collected data contribute with evidence to the understanding of the use of technologies for aging in place to support home monitoring of patients with chronic conditions. In parallel with this study, the authors have used a similar methodology to analyze the role of technologies for aging in place to empower patients with chronic diseases. However, due to space limitations, the authors decide not to report the results in this article. Therefore, these results will be object of a future publication.
