The bottom line-- Little Alchemy won’t teach anyone any foreign concepts, but it is a great way for kids to build interest in science and mathematical learning. It offers structure to down time and a basic learning environment. It is not completely challenging, but still offers a competitive drive. Little Alchemy lacks an objective and has no pull on human emotion, however, it offers an intellectual approach to creativity, a competitive edge to a simple plot, and an adrenaline rush that keeps the player wanting more. The game gives the player minimal items to work with, therefore, you have to use simple elements to create greater objects. The game is meant to be intuitive, but there are Wiki pages that explain the game, if you really don't understand. Little Alchemy starts with four elements: Earth, water, fire, and air. Little Alchemy makes you want to play because it’s engaging and rewarding-- in an I just made mud in a video game, kind of way. Truthfully, you're not gaining anything from playing, but it stimulates your brain in a way that’s like explaining chores to a three year old. At first they don't understand and don’t want to do it, but when they do it without you having to ask and get appraisal, they just keep doing it. Like when you mix sand and hurricane together and you randomly make a sandstrom, you didn’t really know that would happen, let’s be honest. But, it made you feel like you’re some kind of Little Alchemy wizard. It makes you happy when you create something by yourself and you enjoy playing it. There is no in depth reasoning behind it, it’s simple, it’s basic, it’s fun. That’s why you like it. Even something as small as combining dirt and water to make mud, is a pat on the back, and the feeling accomplishment is nice, even if all you accomplished today was making
