In the short story “Mrs. Buell”, Kate learns that everything is not as it seems through a series of events. When one considers certain factors such as abrupt personality change, encounters with unexpected people, and changes in first impression, it can be seen that there are many things to be discovered that may change our impression of one’s being. Kate is startled by Mrs. Buell’s actions when, she hurts her knee while walking into Mrs. Buell’s convenience store. Although, Mrs. Buell shows compassion towards her, Kate can’t quite believe that Mrs. Buell had shown any type of sympathy. This is evident when Kate assumes, “She was probably sorry now that she’d fixed my knee.
“Oh Brother Where Art Thou”, released October 19th 2000 is a Crime/Adventure film filled with some action and lots of song. The adventure in the film is led by Ulysses Everett McGill, a man of many words and some excellent hair. He goes through many rough and tough situations in order to find the “treasure” he seeks throughout the movie. Separated from his wife because he has little funds, him and his friends Pete Hogwallop, Tommy Johnson, and Delmar O'Donnel find money in the music industry as the “Soggy Bottom Boys” creating hits during their adventures. Everett uses his words and wit in order to get through anything he can.
None of us are perfect. We all have our mistakes, flaws, and imperfections. Regardless of this, we still all strive to be perfect. We work on ourselves by trying to fix the problems and become better people. In doing this, we try to develop the traits we want.
In the story Fahrenheit 451 written by bradbury shows many character attitude and their contribution to the story. One character that really that stands out and makes me dislike her then any other character in this story is mildred. She wakes up watching tv clowns that separates her from her real feelings. Mildred also treats his husband as if he were invisible, she never tries to talk to him in any way. She makes herself happy and enjoy her day by living with technology, makes herself sleep with sleeping pills, which she doesn't care about anything that happens around.
What begins the changes in Montag and what are the changes in him? In Ray Braudbury’s novel, Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montag undergoes major changes because of the influence of other intellects and events; in effect this caused him to ruminate about events that were considered “normal”. Montag’s occupation is firefighting, however he is not the traditional version of a fire fighter. Montag does not put out fire, but rather helps ignite them.
During the mid 1930s, nearly 45 percent of Americans lived in poverty. For children who live in impoverished conditions, the affect on their behavior can vary, depending on how they are raised and taught. In To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, she introduces two characters, Walter and Burris, who are both examples of kids living in impoverished conditions. Even though both Walter and Burris are poor, they are raised differently.
Jimmy Little is a fourteen-year old boy who displays mischievous acts that gets him into trouble. He is embarrassed to talk about his father. He is lazy, trouble-making, and curious. He is also extremely intelligent. He just has trouble concentrating, and rarely goes to school.

As a teen age boy who wants to find the secrets his girlfriend who left behind all these mysteries after her odd disappearance. It also tells about the lost gothic girl, Anna Cayne, who meets the young high-school aged narrator. Throughout the postcards, a shortwave radio, various CDs, and many other irregular interest.
In the book “Two Kinds” by Amy Tan, it’s about a little girl who is pressured by her mother to become something she doesn’t want to be. Jing- mei , the daughter, is forced to become a prodigy(child actress), by her mother, and she doesn’t want to be one. In the story, Jing- meis’ mother uses allusions such as Shirley Temple to push her into becoming a prodigy. Although at first Jing- mei is excited to become a prodigy, she later realizes its something she just doesn’t enjoy doing. Consequently, the uses of allusion in the story help Jing- mei discover to not be a prodigy and that what her mother wants for her is not always important.
According to Victor and Edith Turner, a liminoid pilgrimage is a “[rite] of transition marked by three phases: separation, limen or margin, and aggregation” (p. 2). In Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods, all of the characters go to the woods and take part in those same three phases outlined by the Turners. They learn lessons on their journey and come out as changed people that barely resemble the characters in the traditional stories. In this way, Into The Woods is the musical liminoid pilgrimage of classic storybook characters.

Viruses are very small, they can be seen with a microscope, and invade living cells. Since viruses don’t consist of cells, they have to depend on a host cell to help them make copies of their selves. When a virus enters a cell it uses that cells ATP to replicate.
Holden Caulfield, the main protagonist in The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, embodies the classic teenager in the process of discovering himself, and how the world works. But, regardless of Holden 's rich, prep school lifestyle, the series of events that have mapped out his life up to this point have utterly affected his emotional well being and perception of the world. Many traumatic events such as the death of holds brother Allie, the death of a class mate, and countless numbers of awkward incidents with adults have all added up to affects Holden 's well-being and detach him from reality. The death of Holden 's younger brother Allie has caused him to confuse his perception of reality and to alienate himself.
The characters of many popular movies tend to have various mental and physical illnesses, but they are often romanticized and not portrayed correctly. In Silver Linings Playbook, both of the main characters have a mental illness and they are displayed fairly accurately. However, it is slightly romanticized and leaves the viewer with the impression that everything is okay after a kiss and that together, the main characters will both be much better with their illnesses. Silver Linings Playbook is about a man named Pat Solitano who has just returned from an eight month stint in a mental hospital and has been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. He was required by law to be treated in the mental hospital because he had previously almost beaten a man to death after discovering he had an affair with his wife, Nikki.
Stephanie Plum, Morelli, and Ranger are three main characters in the book, One for the Money, by Janet Evanovich. Stephanie is a young woman struggling to get by in the city of Trenton, New Jersey. After losing her job, she goes against her family’s request and gets the dangerous job of a bounty hunter. She gets assigned Joe Morelli, who was accused of murder and who happened to be a childhood enemy. Stephanie is very inexperienced and receives help from a professional bounty hunter, Ranger.
Motivation is the deciding force that guides a person on any journey. Every action or decision you make is consciously or subconsciously influenced by prior thoughts and events. These thoughts and events can create several different types of motivations in different people.
