Murder is one of the hardest crimes to commit and get away with due to all of the
technology used today to solve crimes. The only problem with this case is that it was committed
in the 1890’s. Murderers were able to easily escape during these times due to the little evidence
that could be found. This caused crime and murder rates to increase rapidly. Lizzie Borden was
an example of a murderer that escaped all of the charges against her. Many older people today
remember Lizzie as the women that struck her family forty-eight times killing them. Even
though Lizzie was found not guilty many facts have been found that lead to Lizzie Borden
actually being a murderer.

When Abby died
Lizzie did not care at all because Lizzie actually benefited from Abby’s death. Killing Abby

would be an easy task for Lizzie because she hated Abby. Lizzie knew that when Abby died
Andrew would give money to Lizzie instead of his wife. Lizzie also knew that when they both
died all of the money would go to her, her sister, and her brother. I think Lizzie loved her father,
but jealousy and the want for money caused Lizzie to end her father’s life. Lizzie was a murderer
that was released back into the world. Although Lizzie was never a suspect in murder case ever
again she still had gotten away with killing two people.
I personally believe that Lizzie Borden should have been found guilty. I think this
because I found many clues that lead to Lizzie being the murderer. Lizzie also contradicted
herself many times during the trial which makes her seem suspicious. If the jury would have put
all of the clues together than Lizzie would have been found guilty. From this case I learned that
during the 1890’s murderers could easily escape. After doing a lot of researching I still believe
Lizzie Borden should have been found
