Logic Model And Action Plan

The Rockingham County Partnership for Success Grant awarded by, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Use, aims to reduce prescription drug misuse among adolescents and young adults ages 12-25. The strategic plan for addressing prescription drug misuse in Rockingham County was a successful project for field based research. The strategic plan includes a logic model and action plan for Rockingham County Partnership for Success Grant and coalitions in Rockingham County to work together to address this problem. The logic model and action plan was completed by Chelsea Bullins, but is also a document for coalitions to use, contingent upon data sharing agreements.
Collecting data for this grant that is related to the field-based research

Classes that I have gained knowledge from and relate to this field based research project includes: Grant Strategies and Preparation, Research Methods, and Crisis Communication Course.
Grant writing course was one of the first classes I completed for the public administration program. In the grant writing course, we learned how to complete a logic model to submit along with grant applications. Decision making skills, critical thinking, analyzing and goal setting were excellent skills enhanced from taking this course and helped to complete the logic model for strategic planning.
Research methods class was a course filled with information on how to collect data and complete research for a topic chosen. Throughout the course we learned different methods of data collection including surveys, interviews, and focus groups. As a part of this course, we learned how to design surveys.
