London 2012 London 2012 had many different initiatives. The main aim of the games was to get more people involved in sport. The buildings that they made in the Olympic park have left a legacy. Lots of the buildings are being used for other sporting events, some of which aren’t even major but the chance to perform/play at these spectacular venues makes young people and children want to get involved. For example, the Trampolining league finals in October 2016 were held at the Copperbox, in the Olympic park and children and young people of all ages competed at the event, the chance to perform at the Copperbox will have made children and young people not only work harder to get the opportunity but will have also kept them involved in the sport and made others want to sign up. This has not only let them take part in the sport but has also helped them to see other benefits of getting involved, physically and mentally. They provide sessions across the whole of England with one main focus, getting women involved in sport, specifically netball. They are ran by qualified netball coaches and coaches that want to help get people involved! They work on everything from passing, to footwork and even to the tactics in games. They don’t need any special kit to take part they just have to show up in trainers and then anything that they feel comfortable running around and doing other forms of exercise in. They are a sponsored initiative, for example, one of their sponsors are Mrs Crimbles. Sessions are running weekly all over the country and they are easily accessible.
