Question 1.1
Holistic development looks at a child as a whole person and examine the physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially, morally, culturally and spiritually changes throughout the life changes of the child. It’s the relationship between all elements and the fluctuation of these. The result being a multi-disciplinary approach to assist a child.
Holistic education should prepare a child to meet the challenges of life and assist with learning.
Question 1.2
Looking at the key development of a child of forty months we need to look at both the emotional and social development of the child. Consideration is given to two dominant areas:
Emotional development: The child will start to understand complexities of emotion and their imagination will be abundant. They will begin to connect confidently with others for guidance and support.

Emotional changes for girls and boys: Along with the physical changes there will also be many emotional changes that happen around puberty for both boys and girls which will make them self-conscious. They often feel misunderstood as they struggle to come to terms with their own identity and strive to be liked and accepted. During the teenage years they begin to separate from their parents and prefer to be with their friends.
Social developments: Children are able to think beyond themselves and are more able to take the feelings of others into account. They constantly looking for approval and their peers are very important to them. They are now becoming more socially skilled and are better are better at resolving conflicts and work through situations affably. They will develop ideas and values of their own and may at times show challenging
