He does this by playing a part in the death of Romeo and Juliet. Lord Capulet contributed to the death of Romeo and Juliet because he is the reason that Juliet decides to fake her death. After Lord Capulet tells Juliet that she must marry Paris, She goes to friar Lawrence. She tells him that she’d rather kill herself than marry Paris, So friar Lawrence comes up with a plan for her to fake her death. In act 4, scene 1, He tells her ”Take thou this vial, being then in bed, And this distilled liquor drink thou off, When presently through all thy veins shall run A cold and drowsy humor, for no pulse Shall keep his native progress, but surcease,”. Juliet faking her death is what causes the chain reaction that leads to the death of both Romeo and Juliet. If Lord Capulet hadn’t forced Juliet to marry Paris, She never would have felt it was necessary to fake her death, and then maybe the tragedy of the play could have been avoided.
