Lord of the Flies is a book about a group of boys that are stranded on an island after a plane crash. They are the only survivors and there are no adults on the island with them. As a group, they will learn how to survive and create tribes and leadership roles. Not everything is perfect with the groups they create. Everything will fall out of order, chaos and death will be shown in the groups.

1. When you first looked at the painting, what was the first thing you noticed? How long did it take for you to notice Icarus’ legs in the bottom right-hand corner? The first things I noticed when I saw the painting were the ships in the water.
People go through life in different ways, each having their own set of morals and beliefs. Nonetheless, the bond between humans and their moral system can be compromised under stressful and life-threatening circumstances. According to Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, humans cannot reach their fullest potential without fulfilling their elementary needs for survival. When situations come and strip them of that, it begins to tear the system a person has; leaving them to desperately leave everything behind for the sake of survival. Night and Lord of the Flies explore the limits of humans under extreme conditions.
In the novel “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding the ultimate one responsible for the destruction of the island is Jack. In the novel Golding has wrote about how a group of british boys crashed on a plane and landed on a island where there are no adults,just little british boys stranded on a island .In the beginning one of the boys Ralph was the responsible leader where he knew what to do an how to manage. But of course there was this one cureles jealous boy that wanted to be a leader,the one in charge. Because of how ruthless and savage Jack was he took the fear that the boys had within them and used it against them to make them join his tribe which started the destruction of the island.
Informative Essay The Lord Of The Flies is a great book filled with events that have hidden messages. There are many allegorical connections that you can make in these hidden messages or symbols. The literary term allegory means a representative of an abstract or spiritual meaning through concrete or material forms. The most important symbols that make up an allegory in this book are piggy's glasses, the island, the beast, the adults and the conch. All the symbols in this story signify the world and Golding tries to find a way to compare or relate it to the real world.
Astonished by his findings, the naval officer stood quietly as the boys finally got control of themselves. Curious as he was, the officer found it best to refrain from too many questions after just witnessing the boy's obvious unstable states. All of the boys scrambled onto the cruiser while most of their heads hung down as if they were too heavy to lift. Ralph imagined his life before the island, telling himself he should be relieved that they were rescued, but he could not help but worry about the new life ahead of him. Ralph observed each of the boys surrounding him, wondering if they were nervous to go home like him.

In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, young boys get stranded on an island with no adults in the midst of a war. The boys were orderly and civilized in the beginning but then as they began killing pigs they slowly became savages and lost their civilization. The boys began turning on each other and the evil within them became present. Golding uses a variety of literary devices including personification, symbols, metaphors, and irony, to project the theme that pure and realistic people in the world can be unheard and destroyed by evil.

A basic theme of the novel is that human beings are basically violent and savage, which makes civic order impossible to sustain.the boys acting different because there are no rules/civic order.the boys were so obsessed with killing a pig it made them more savage.they really weren't doing anything they were messing around and never took anything seriously there is no way they would be able to stay non-savage and they didn’t.
William Goulding starts off the novel by placing a group of kids on an island. The kids are stranded on the island, alone and fearful. Already, Goulding creates a mood of impending darkness, cruelty and suspense. The theme of this novel is that “The defects in society are related to the defects in humanity”. The boys set rules and assign jobs, yet as time goes by, some boys are devolving and are breaking the rules which represents the defects in humanity, humans cannot stick to one thing for a long time.
Golding says “The boys broke into shrill, exciting cheering” (41) in the beginning of the novel, then at the end of the novel says, “A great clamor rose among the savages” (164). William Golding who wrote The Lord of the Flies changes his word choice from “boys” to “savages” to emphasize the fact that the boys change into savage creatures. Three symbols represent civilization and change into chaos over the course of the novel. The three symbols representing change are Piggy’s glasses, The fire, and the conch. These figures demonstrate the important theme that the calm civilization will soon break out into disorder.
Overall, The Lord of the Flies was a very graphic novel that sought to depict the dark side of human nature. Every aspect of the novel contributed to the overall theme. From the Golding’s decision to use teenage boys as the main characters because of their disposition to behave recklessly to his use of the pig’s head to represent the devil, the story is a very effective cautionary
Lord of the Flies is a story where its representation of childhood and adolescence shape the meaning of the work as a whole. The boys struggle with giving into their evil instincts. Most of them give in. Golding uses this novel to show that children are not naturally good. They are evil and without the constraints of society that savagery shines through.
