This film is conflict between teens based on the developmental theories. Developmental theories explain how people develop during their life time, which gives people an idea about how human being have different types of development stages. It makes it useful to discovering and validating facts about these stages. It helps everybody to fully understand how people grow and change during every stage, then applying this knowledge to our own life. To get people to know these theories and gain the knowledge of them. Theories are guides to research and to explain observations. People apply these theories to daily examples, stories, and films. This film gives me the ability to understand most of the theories that I felt were relevant to it. These theories are cognitive theory, social learning theory and Sternberg’s theory of love. Cognitive theory focuses on changes in how people think over time. According to this theory, our thoughts shape our attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. This theory relevant to the film in different ways. Characters on the film seem to change over time according to their thoughts and behavior. Which allow the audience to get a better idea of how this theory can apply to the film and how much similarities can happen between the characters. Piaget used the methods of scientific observation with his own three infants, finding them curious and useful. The main idea of social learning, by which a person observes other people’s actions and copies them. However, behavior depended on associations between one person and another or what kind of experienced a person experienced. This may occur through modeling. Modeling is actions been copied from another. These actions may affect people in couple ways. This theory has the most affective theory on people. People get into this theory easily especially nowadays with all these social media influencers whether it’s guys or girls. Teenagers get attractive easily over these models on social media, which lead them to copy what they usually do like fashion, makeup etc. This theory took a big place on the film and showed how social learning can take an advantage of another people’s behavior. After cady started to hang out with the plastic girls (Regina, Gretchen, and Karen), she seems to copy everything they did, daily routine, the way she dress, make up, and talking about innocent people around them. She was lost most likely confused. She wanted to fit in, but little did she know this change can affect her in so many ways. Cady starts to make up rumors about students, teachers, including her best friend. Things seems to work for her lately.
