Evil Will Soon Take Over Everyone has a positive and an evil side, sometimes the evil side is just waiting to come out. Throughout the novel Lord Of The Flies by William Golding, Golding illustrates how much someone can change in just a little over a year. How can a young boy go to a boy that's hungry for blood? A group of young boys were part of a plane crash and they were stranded on an island for 15 months with no adults. No adults meant they had no choice but to mature in a matter of time and figure out how to survive while stranded on an island. The boys needed to mature very quickly and start trying to survive by finding food and building shelters. After some time on the island, the boys start to act differently and a bit unnatural. At first, the boys were okay with being stuck on an island and are acting normal, but soon they start to act insane, especially Jack. Yes, he was always a little violent but there's a certain point where everyone realizes that person just has a killer instinct. When he had his first kill he couldn´t express how he felt because he had so many emotions. He fulfilled what he has been wanting for a while and had no regret he had just killed a living thing. ¨Memories of the knowledge that had come to them when they closed in on the struggling pig, knowledge that they had outwitted a living thing, imposed their will upon it, taken away its life like a long satisfying drink¨ (Golding 70). It did not bother him that he had just ended a life, he was happy he killed the pig. He had no regard that this was the moment where all his cravings for violence and blood would just keep getting higher.
