Some say true love is a myth while others believe it exists, in A Midsummer Night’s Dream love is shown between Hermia and Lysander in the purest way possible. Although throughout the story Demetrius wants to wed Hermia she refuses because she loves Lysander and does not care for Demetrius. Lysander loves her with all his heart and would do anything to stay with her even if it means leaving Athens, which they planned on doing. Hermia confides in Helena and tells her their plan of leaving Athens and running away through the woods, who then tells Demetrius to try to win his affection.
