Individual’s unique interpersonal relationship experiences can positively or negatively shape one’s viewpoint on the concept of love. Therefore, it is an extremely difficult for researching to define the concept of “love” (Welch, 2010). Understanding how love influences particular behaviors can benefit in the establishment of future healthy interpersonal relationships. John Lee developed six various love styles. The six love styles include eros (romantic love), ludus (game-playing love), storge (companionate love), mania (manic love), pragma (pragmatic love), and agape (altruistic love). After completing the “Love Styles” questionnaire, I was very surprised about the results of my particular love style. However, I believe my love style will evolve after completing my education and prioritizing my time to a committed interpersonal relationship. My results for each individual love style from the questionnaire included: ludus (7), storge (6), eros (5), mania (5), agape (4), and pragma (5). The highest mean depicts the love style behaviors an individual displays when in interpersonal relationship. Ludus was the love style that I scored the highest mean in the “Love Styles” questionnaire. Common characteristics of ludus love style include playfulness, flirtatious, carefree, and casual (Welch, 2010). At this particular point in my life I could see various aspects of the ludus love style. I agree that I prefer my interpersonal relationships with more carefree and casual characteristics than serious with a strong commitment.
