The Longest Ride, a novel written by Nicholas Sparks. Throughout the story the main characters, Luke, Sophia, and Ira are faced with difficult problems. Luke Collins has to save his family ranch. He needs to put his life at risk to get the money to keep it. Luke is a professional bull rider. It is the only way he can get money. He puts his life at risk overtime he gets on a bull. Last year he got seriously injured and fractured is skull. He has metal plates in his head but if he gets one more hard hit they won’t protect his brain. He will die. Luke doesn’t understand that his mother doesn’t care if they lose the ranch. She just wants him to be safe and stop the bull riding. At one of Luke’s competitions he meets a girl named Sophia. He instantly knew that he would do anything to have her. He works up the courage to go over and say hello. They talk till the night ends. Luke asks Sophia for her number.
