Freedom Summer, or the Mississippi Summer Project, was a volunteer campaign launched in June 1964 to attempt to register as many African-American voters as possible in Mississippi, which had historically excluded most blacks from voting. The project also set up dozens of Freedom Schools throughout Mississippi to aid the local black population. The projects leadership and funding came from the SNCC and COFO, along with hundreds of white college students in the north. In 1963, the SNCC organized a mock vote for blacks, which gave them a chance to prove they were capable of understanding politics. The civil rights activists from both organizations and the white volunteers from the north faced many challenges during the campaign.

One of Bernie Sander’s many plans to institute true equality in the United States is to eliminate institutional discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, or race. This includes sexual orientation discrimination in schools, something that has become real issue for some of the United States’ children as even elementary age children can be kicked out of school based on their parent’s sexualities (Prachi.) and many states have no laws against such actions. He believes in the reintroduction of the equal rights amendment and voted against the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996, which despite its crusading appearance was actually a bill of discrimination that denied legal rights to same-sex couples that were legally married. For me to be successful with so many things going on, I had to stay organized and think ahead. My success was that I kept all my grades above a C+.

In my opinion, making the school's lunch menu healthier is a bad idea. One reason is that making the menu healthier is not serving a purpose. A second reason is kids can always bring their own lunch to school. A third reason is that making the lunch healthy is not going to make the child have a healthy lifestyle. Although, others may disagree and say that having a healthier lunch menu is a good idea.
Of the eight hours for five days of 36 weeks that high school students dedicate to education only 30 minutes are given to them as free/ lunch time. At Bellevue East high school those thirty minutes is confined to the inside of the school cafeteria for most students throughout the school year even though they have the ability to leave. And students who do not abide by the rules leave without permission anyway. We as the Tom Tom staff believe that students with the ability to access lunch outside of the school should be able to do so.
Every day students enjoy their lunches at school. They always enjoy eating their delicious meals where they have the option to chose what they want. If their lunch is changed then their options will be limited. Changing the lunch to be healthier will not be something that will be very great for our school. If the school lunch is changed then some of the students that are larger could not get the nutrition they need and hurt the ones that really need those extra calories.
In college, I have learned that your front stage self and backstage self start to intertwine. Your front stage self is shown by the public and your backstage self is what you attempt to hide from others. Being around people twenty-four seven, it is hard to have a backstage self. I am an introvert, so I get my energy from being alone. I feel drained of my energy most of the time because I am always around people in the dorms.
Within these two passages, Wolf changes the tone by comparing different meals that were served to her by both the men and women’s college. In the first passage (men’s college) Wolf describes the contrast between the luncheon to the dinner at the women’s college.
